why have a cheapest price search, if it is not the cheapest price?

I'm just wondering the point of the search by price, if the search doesn't return the item of the cheapest price. The search returns a range of products and prices from a range of prices. When clicking on the first returned listed item. Neither the item nor the price is true. This is true in almost every category of item. If this cannot be maintained by ebay and the buyers listing - usually from china - why have the search function? Too many buyers and items to complain about, this is a systemic issues that needs to result in the fundamental removal of the 'search cheapest item' functionality. thoughts from others?

I have always searched by price plus postage, lowest first and never had a problem although that is no longer as accurate as it was due to the GST being added to items from overseas.
