I am new to eBay selling, prior to this have just sold via my online site. We have contacts with a company that produces genuine Bodum glasses and we are able to purchase their over-production glasses at a very good price.
I advertised these as Bodum glasses and a buyer bought up about 20 of these which were offered in sets. They complained that they were not genuine, and rather than arguing I went the route of "the customer is always right", refunded their money for items not yet shipped and gave them a refund on what they had already received.
My worry is that their feedback will make people think that I'm selling 'fakes'. I made a mistake in listing them as "Brand New" as we are not allowed to purchase them in their original packaging, so will revise that and will make mention in the description that they are factory over-production and sold in generic packaging. I will also take a photo of the base of the glass which clearly shows the Bodum logo and markings. Aside from this, is there anything else I should do?
Is it wise to comment on their feedback that the items are genuine, just not sent in original packaging, or just let it go?
Just wondering how I should handle this. Currently they're listed as "Bodum style glasses" (I relisted some sets while this recent fiasco was playing out.)
Any tips would be much appreciated as I don't want to stuff things up and not be able to sell via eBay as it has been going quite well as an aside to my other online store?
NO, do not make any comment in the FB, most people do not read the comments with green dots, and if you leave answer that will only attract attention. Hopefully soon you get more positive FB and these will get pushed down the page.
Just fix your listings as Foxy said 🙂
