Calli and Harley - no idea how to do that 'facebook thing' - I have a personal page like you Cal but want to kep seperate. Do I just open another fb id and name it after my ebay store? use the same email address as my eBay store? Any pointers (sorry this is way off track of sales for the month I know, sorry apologies in advance to all)
You can create a separate page for a business (via your personal account as admin) here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php
If you post stuff to your business page (as the page admin not your personal profile) it won't show up on any of your personal friend's newsfeeds (unless they liked the page) and only the details you post on the page itself will be public.
I have one, not strictly for my eBay store but encompassing my hobby/business/thing, which has another storefront & blog - I don't really maintain it though. :8}
Last two months were pretty dismal on here, but at 11 for August so far and that's an improvement! My store turned 1 year old on the 1st, so either way I'm in a celabratory mood. :^O

Beat you to it, Cath.
Koala, Ghost already replied to your question. Let me know if I can help at all but it's relatively simple.
When you go to your "Home" in Facebook, there should be a link at the left saying "Pages and Ads". Click on it and follow the instructions.
If you want to spend some money on it, it also allows you to advertise your Page.
Have fun ๐

A little tip for all the sellers out there, im sure this really works.
See the little facebook link on all our items on the right hand side? click that and have your item posted on facebook, I did that this morning, was at 21 sales, now have 28.
Not necessarilly the items i clicked on, some might of been, but they will look at the item and then look at what else you have and buy it.
I try to advertise on facebook at least once a day, sometimes twice, some days i dont get around to it, but why not do it, they also feed through to twitter, not sure if they will do that with everyone, but i do remember clicking something to have my things feed through to twitter also, ages ago.
Its worth a try anyway, its free, cant hurt.
Yes, this is something I only recently noticed. I'm not upto speed with all the new social media outlets but have noticed an increasing trend for businesses (e.g. Maccas, Bing Lee, anything) to advertise the fact that they're on Facebook. At first, I thought, 'what's the big deal?' After a while, I realised that whenever someone "likes" something on Facebook, it's sent to everyone of their friends. It's free advertising...
Back on topic, 2 for August so far.
