Aust Post complaint again

What are they thinking just a major rip off I would say .

Posting out today 17 Aust Post satchels only to learn we no  longer get a lodgement reciept only get the little sticker on the satchel so how the heck are we to know what tracking number belongs to what stupid, said this to the girl behind the desk was informed they scan it then it goes into the system .

Thats well and good for them .

I for one do not trust there scanning system I wrote  few months back had posted a reg insured item it never arrived and it never showed up on the website .I did get my money back because I did have proof.,but even then it took 6 weeks .

Aust Post needs to wake up .

If we have something go missing we have to prove it .

Its about time Aust Post workers have to have police checks yes I am serious they handle 100s of  $ worth of goods a day .

Where is our protection from them seems to be getting less and less .

Please note that any additional services like a Signature on Delivery will be issued with a new label and tracking number. Any previous tracking numbers assigned to the item should be disregarded.

When will the issue of non-integration between click and send and the rest of the post system be remedied?

It is most unacceptable to me that the incorrect tracking numbers for signature on delivery and express post click and send parcels are now uploaded to ebay and paypal and on lodgement an entirely new tracking number issued for each.

The amount of paperwork that I have to retain for each parcel to ensure paypal protection moved into the area of ridiculous.

I also have to manually change every tracking number in ebay - which does IMO is a PITA I can do without.

Does it really matter as you have no Paypal protection with regular small parcels, red and express satchels anyway unless you pay for SOD.

Why not use click & send then you know exactly where you are?

I would like to assure you that the integrity and security of the mail is our highest priority. We have a range of revenue protection measures in place to prevent and detect incidents in which mail security is breached. We take these incidents very seriously and will continue to work closely with the Director of Public Prosecutions on any investigations

How can that possibly be the case when AP have so little faith in their own service that they aren't even prepared to cover anything that gets lost.

I'm sure if the buyer is switched on they could induce Paypal to cover them as well.

I use C&S and the consequent Paypal protection. Which doesn't mean I wouldn't pursue AP rabidly if they lost a parcel and claimed 'no care, no responsibility'. That's what the ombudsman is for - the more complaints that end up there, the greater the likelihood that AP will actually take ownership of their service. Or their service standards.

I don't really care what AP decide to disclaim. I pay them (a premium) for a service. If they don't (literally) deliver, then they are liable. Regardless of any disclaimer they care to publish.

Maybe you have gotten a bit behind on post services ???

I do use click and send to send some signature on delivery or express satchels, it is cheaper than prepaid and  processes, stores and prints out label the same.

I also send a number of regular parcels via click and send processing within 50km as there is a significant saving it is a flat rate of $8.95 for around 20kg+

So my parcels are covered by Paypal, with addressee details produced exactly the same as other click and send items. I am unable to pay on-line, but this is no biggie as I have an Oz Post account.

My dear old PM [Post Master] flatly refuses to scan C & S satchels over the counter because

Quote " we don't make anything out of them...end of story "

but another PM... 22 K's away says you must always scan them, and he's happy to do it!

he has great customer relations .

My PO told me they get paid a small amount for each scan, so not sure why a PO wouldn't run a scanner over them when it takes a few seconds only ?:|

Your dear old PM needs to retire. AP outlets, regardless of their status, get paid to scan C&S. It's only a few cents, but it adds up. Especially when the staff would be standing there twiddling their thumbs otherwise

As a regular buyer I am APPALLED at the huge drop in time frames last 2 weeks ref.Click and Send 3kg satchel delivery times.I was used to receiving all packages in under 7 days from anywhere in Oz(not including public holiday times). Received two satchels (3kg and a 5kg) from two diff sellers today that took 11 and 12 days.

This Click n Forget service is nuts. It took 12 and 11 days to receive from payment. I did some comms with sellers, messaged my 'whinges'! and did my own research into this 'parcels are late' issue.... Looking up tracking a few days ago thru ebay rendered ' a blank' tracking box. Not much service here-well actually not blank but am unable to enter any details(namely the Aus Post tracking number) onto/into the thing it's like, semi-visible but no-one's home and there are not even any lights on! So,I brought up the Australia Post site 'track your parcel'- entered tracking number onto this (have experienced incorrect tracking numbers that I have copied and pasted over from my ebay purchasing History, with extra numerals etc don't know if this was a seller or Aus Post generated mistake) and even more puzzling have been advised 'MANIFESTED'.........eh?!!! with no post tracking details given/available, not even the date posted. I am assuming that ( invoice in a plastic window on o/side of satchel the details confirmed this on one satchel) if under the satchel weight statement box 'Street-posting box lodgement' appears that this means the seller has lodged electronically from comfort of their home and then take their time to drop in to a street verge post box. If on entering the tracking number on the Aus Post tracking site I get the message 'Accepted from seller' and an entered postage DATE then I am assuming that the seller took the satchel to their post office, manually posted it over the counter, had the satchel scanned and hence tracking details are available-am still interested to discover if this manual trouble/service provided by a seller/s speeds up postage time frame.

Have also researched cost (i am considering becoming a seller in future) of sending small parcels/satchels .....have found (I am located in South West of WA) that my local P*ack And S*nd courier/freight/delivery company is very competitive on 500g or less(if sender lodges manually at the office in person) plus insurance up to $1500 included-receiver signs for and courier will repeatedly try and deliver at no extra cost until a signature is gleaned from the buyer/recipient at the delivery address.

I think Australia Post and especially their contractors do a great job. System changes and the huge increase in volume that they have had to contend with in recent years has obviously given them challenges but I have NEVER had a parcel not arrive that was posted within Australia in quite a few years of buying and I wish to say THANK YOU to Australia Post and their contractors for this:)

THANK YOU to the majority of sellers who take great care and extra trouble with wrapping and time and fuel costs to post my items at their local PO so that I receive my parcel in a reasonable time frame:). I am always happy to pay a few extra $'s for HANDLING but like this to be open and transparent in item description/postage details.

Cheers for reading my opinion.
