On the bright side.... It would seem you've avoided entering into a transaction with an apparently impatient / demanding(?) buyer. ๐

I've only had 2 buyers retract bids. One asked me to cancel their bid, which I did. The other cancelled their own and sent me a message apologising, but they had found the same item cheaper. That's fine, I'd rather that than them find the cheaper item and then not pay for mine, meaning I then have to go down the non paying dispute road.
I've cancelled a few myself. Most were because I bid when I was half asleep and instead of putting a bid on for say $50.50, I'd actually put a bid on for $5,050! I immediately rebid with the correct amount and the sellers would have seen that.
Another time I retracted, then sent the US seller a message (who at that stage had 0 feedback, but a few things that I wanted) explaining that I had retracted my 6 bids because I discovered after placing them that she used the Global Shipping Program and the postage on 6 small items would be prohibitive. I didn't know at that stage how to get around the GSP and she actually wasn't aware she was using it. She appreciated me sending the message though. I only wish I could remember her username because she had some really good stuff!!

I've had 1 retraction......Buyer bid $450.00 on an item I had on starting at $3.00. He did change it to $4.50 though I certainly preferred his original bid.

I think my biggest oooops was $35,500 instead of $35.50! It was late, I was tired, the only light was the light from the computer screen and I hit the comma instead of the full stop. That time I didn't realise until the next morning. I was stunned that I'd won the item. Then I saw what my highest bid was! Thankfully the item sold for $50, so I was lucky, because I have seen them sell for upwards of $200.

I have had a few bid retractions all because wrong amount has been entered have done that myself and have no problem with that but just because you don't answer a question immediately is a bit rich.

I agree totally. I think some people forget that a lot of eBay sellers have a regular job and selling on here is just a sideline. I know I can't use my phone at work unless I'm on a scheduled break, so I risk the same thing from an impatient buyer if I get a message while I'm at work. Some days I can work a full 10 hour shift without getting a break.
If they are that impatient, chances are they would neg you because their item didn't arrive within 6 hours of payment.....if they even paid at all.
