I want to make changes to a title in my listing but can't seem to, all I want to do is and an "ed" to one word.
Is that something that can't change?
I have a few sales of that items and ideally don't want to have to remove it and start again.

That's correct. Once you've sold some the title cannot be changed.

bugger... I only want to add two letters... lol
ok.. so is my best bet to leave that listing there and remove all but one item and then relist with the better title?

I find a change of title is often the spark needed to start a sales run. It is definitely worth a try so I would agree that if you reduce the stock available on the old listing and give the new title a go, it should not take long to build up its own sales record (if not, it is a cheap lesson in marketing).]:)

that will loose you''sales history'' on that item, and could put you further back in the Searches.
is the -ed that important it is worth loosing your 'sales history' over?

I think the ed is worth adding...
smock to smocked
what do people search when they are looking for a dress with smocking in the bodice?

i suspect that if you have smock and somebody would actually search for smocked it would still come up.

OK, no it does not........ nor does it work the other way around. So it really depends on what do you think that people will search more likely?

I have no idea.....
I think I was just trying to increase my rankings in the listings...
so hard to know the right thing to do some days.

If you start typing a word in the search box, you will see (if you have eBay suggestions switched on, which I only do for research purposes because I hate it as a buyer), the topmost and most recent searches using that word. Sometimes they're not related to your item, but it's very good and giving a general idea of the keywords most commonly used.
smock results in the following list
smock dress
smocking
art smock
smock top
australian smocking embroidery
kids art smock
smocked
country road smock
smocked dress
smocking patterns
