What is going on with ebay. chat? I need assistance with an issue related to managed payments, asked a simple question, and got,responses about unrelated things, and it made no sense whatsoever..it was like we were talking about different things completely.  Even gave me a PayPal address of " yours you need to check" and it's not even mine, sounded Indian.  What is going on, it was ridiculous.  I've tried for weeks to answer a simple question and it's getting worse trying to get sense out of them, but this topped them

Just got off live chat after arguing about account being put on hold because ebay just sprung it on me that previous month invoice had to be paid immediately.

So every listing that I had has been deleted by ebay until I make payment.

And get this ebay put my account on hold before issuing the ultimatum so I have no recourse but pay up or close up.

I argued why wasn't I at least given the option of making the payment before shutting me down.

Response was sorry you're now in the grey area, what they place us in a colour code now seriously I'm about to lose control and I think I like it.

Made the payment but still have to wait 24 hrs and if my hold hasn't been lifted then I need to contact them again.

Hang on a minute if it hasn't been lifted well then I'll just have to chuck a wobbly if that happens haha.

I'm sorry, if it wasn't so serious it would be laughable.

 

I thank goodness everyday that I am a buyer - it all goes MY WAY. I can pay with paypal, at least until mid 2023 and you can just suck it up and lump it along with all the other poors saps.sellers

 

I don't see any of this being a win win to be honest. Every post I see is a seller having problems that are not being solved. Hang in there

A lot of that would have to do with fourms like these being default-problem solving / reporting and / or outright complaint outlets.

 

MP is definitely having numerous issues, and i don't see it as a nett positive for sellers overall even if / when everyone who can be switched has been and it's functioning at an acceptable level for everyone (or most), but for those that are chugging along just fine with it, it would probably be interpreted less than favourably to post that in threads where issues are raised (unless it's relevant in some way), and the most common response when people do that (or so I've personally noticed) is to be accused of eBay-apologia, or being an employee propagating pro-eBay positions, or (as this has the potential to be interpreted as) not caring about (or being ignorant of) the problems, or dismissing them etc etc, so that sort of post won't crop up as often as the complaints / criticisms of eBay. 

 

What gets me the most about the issues that have arisen, is that eBay had literal years to prepare for this, but in typical fashion it feels like they rushed everything last minute without much consideration or testing. Smiley Sad

I'm already in their pocket..... They sent me a thermos-style travel mug and a black tote bag earlier this year. Smiley LOL

 

 

As goodie bags go, it was scant, but one could still say I've been bribed, none the less, lol. (The mug is standard but the tote has a big white eBay logo on it, though is surprisingly decent quality - I looked up the company who makes them, and they're not the cheapest around, plus are an Australian-owned & operated business, so that was at least a nice touch on an otherwise relatively token gesture - still, they're getting a lot more use than the branded packing tape ever did).

I've been told because the date on my license is clashing with the American style date format? I said I'd thought you'd have accounted for that, surely that means everyone is having issues? Now I gotta wait up to a week....they say...not liking sending so much and seeing no money
