does any other sellers or buyers agree with me that this new ebay set up is a complete shambles.whoever thought of it or runs it now should be sacked , its so confusing now, there is no customer service, they just keep passing the buck, like ill put you through to an expert, once i was passed onto 5 experts who still couldnt answer my question, why was the first person even working there on the help line if they didnt know a thing? for years things ran smoothly, a few changes through the years, but still able to work it out, but now!!..**bleep**? cant do this or that, cant find pages, have to be a genius to do something we've been doing so easily for years, and now we have to do this and do that or bad luck, someone doesnt pay, too bad,cos now they dont miss out on a fee if no pay, they also said to me, good news, no more paypal fees, but what they didnt mention was that ebay now take that fee, thank you very much,as if they dont take enough as it is,ok, we dont have to sell on here, its a necessary evil for some, but there making it harder for the little guys who actually made ebay what it is back in the day,now corporate greed has overtaken it,and we the little guys are slowly being squeezed out to make way for the bigger the better sales people, ive seen , read and heard many others with same gripe, but ebay wont listen,it is a complete mess, worst ever, why try and fix something that was working fine for years.

Does anyone ever wonder what the "help" button is for?
It provides 99.9% of solutions to problems... such as how easy it is to cancel for no payment & receive a fee credit.
Btw... why do you regard not being paid as a positive experience?
At least you tell "buyers" to be aware.... of a seller who inores policies.

I have found managed payments an absolute breeze, but then again I did a bit of research before signing on and joined in the first wave.
Yes, what was the paypal fee, is now collected by ebay/adyen for performing the same functions as paypal.
Ebay are only complying with legislation, so do not know how you come to the corporate greed conclusion, or why you would think ebay could continue to operate outside the legislation to satisfy long term members who dont like upsetting the status quo.
As for it being complete mess/worst ever, Totally disagree, have not had a single problem and sales have boomed.

Never had that experience. I simply type in a few key words & proceed from there. Should that fail I have asked on the boards & received help from here.
You still have not said why you regard not being paid as a positive experience.

I guess that answers that question, lol.
I'm fine with the set-up as a business seller, things tick along fine and I have no complaints from that perspective, but I do get the resistance in some ways. I guess I'm a bit lazy, maybe, but I CBA setting up another selling account for personal items lol, despite the relative ease in which it was done first time around, so for those experiencing problems I can imagine going from just inputting an email address and getting dosh from sales pretty quick, to having all these issues would definitely make you re-think if eBay is worthwhile anymore - I think it is, overall, if you can get to that point where buyer pays ebay > ebay pays seller > no problems. Getting there is the issue for some, though, I suppose, and for sure a lot of that is ebay's fault via lack of clarity and communication in some areas.
Can you narrow down what the actual issue / question is - never know, someone here might be able to help instead of just agree or disagree with the post's premise.

I get why eBay have gone for Managed payments - more profit for them than having to share with PayPal etc.
What I find frustrating is that previously when a buyer paid, you were paid straight away, in your PayPal account of which you could leave it there, or transfer to your bank account (generally I found the money in my bank account the same or next day or instantly if I paid a small fee)
now when he eBay get paid, you have to wait 2-3 days processing, then 2-3 days for bank processing and then add 2 more days if it falls over the weekend.
yesterday I discovered another annoying fact. I paid for a couple of postages via eBay which then put my account in the red. On the MP pages it said I could make a one time payment, so, to keep my account in good standing did a one time bank payment. Received an email stating that I had actioned this and money was deducted from my account. It wasnโt a large amount.
But since paying these fees, I sold an item and the buyer paid yesterday. Now eBay have deducted the postage fees (which I had already paid). Argh! So I get on to the chat and explain the situation. Not a hard one but the eBay rep doesnโt get it and after 30 mins of me trying to explain it transfers me to someone else.
this person reads through the previous chat and still doesnโt get I have paid the fees twice. He just keeps saying there were 2 postage fees. Yes i said and I paid them via one time payment. I explained it again 3 times, he finally gets it. I then have to screen shot the payment in my bank account and send it via the link he supplies. He then replies, โthis doesnโt say what itโs for, just says itโs to eBayโ. I replied no, bank transactions do not give you this information, only to who you paid and the amount.
i then send a screen shot of the eBay email showing I had initiated the one time payment which showed the amount that matched the bank statement amount. Once you initiate a bank transfer, it cannot be cancelled. He then says he needs to speak to a superior. He comes back and says โwell we donโt have the payment so we have deducted it from funds that came into your account. You will have to wait until we get the payment and we will refund you.
so after an over of carp on chat I got no where and once eBay confirm they received the bank transfer only then will they refund the duplicate fees paid meaning another 2-3 days eBay processing followed by bank processing times.
i know many people donโt mind MP but for me, I loathe it. Too long processing payments, full fees charged on Promos, and now double payments.
if PayPal can get you your money practically within one day, why canโt eBay? Processing times are too long IMHO.

So you expect Ebay to refund funds, which your bank have supposedly transferred to them, but they havent received yet.
This is a well known scam. Tell someone I have sent them funds, produce a fake bank transfer slip, and hope that the people refund them for something that was never sent.
Not saying this is the case here, just explaining why no one will refund something they havent received as yet. If I sent you a bank slip saying I had sent you funds, would you refund it before it hots your bank account. I hope not.
PS. Blame your bank for taking their time for getting the funds to Ebay as well,

In my opinion the new MP system is better than the old ebay/paypal system. I don't have to check paypal anymore and everything is on ebay. Then after 3 or 4 days of selling the item funds automatically drop into my bank account, those are the pros.
And the cons are, it is all good until something goes wrong. Chat officers can not correct payments on the spot like they could before and you could end up chasing overpayment of fees for up to 8 weeks. Like others have said, chat officers can talk with you for a good 10 minutes or so and then pass you on to another specialist thus dragging out the times longer.
Also since being on the MP system I have never got from ebay itself a free final value listing anymore. They just don't hand them out anymore. I remember promos like "spring cleaning promo, sell 5 items with no final value fee" and "sell as many items as you like this weekend with final value fees of only $1 per item". Not a single free be or discount fee offer since March 2021 when I came off the old system. So although MP might be better in some ways it does cost me more in fees as the promos are no longer offered. I am only a small time regular individual seller, not a business or a store.
