DSR's

I don't usually pay a lot of attention to the DSR's, but I recently got positive feedback from a buyer who bought one of my cushion covers and then said "true to colour. very nice but for the price I expected pattern to be both sides".

95% of my cushion covers have a neutral backing due to the cost of fabric and this is spelled out in every listing, plus I include pictures of both sides (we all know that many buyers don't read descriptions).

Anyway, I happened to look at seller dashboard and DSR's today out of curiousity and saw that she had dinged me on the description, which gave me a defect.

Just to clarify, does this defect percentage reduce at the next evaluation on the 20th of December?

I would reply to their feedback with: listing clearly stated that the back was neutral fabric.

Also contact eBay and ask for the defect to be removed as the buyer clearly didn't read the listing and gave

the low DSR's for a correctly described item,(it's not your fault that they got it wrong),stubborn_smiley_by_mirz123-d4bt0te_zps12f1a5a3.gif

If she's dinged you for item description and also mentioned it in the feedback, I'd be contacting eBay and asking them to remove that rating/defect. If your ads clearly say the pattern is only on one side and that's what she's dinged you for, then your item was as described. They should remove it. I managed to get 2 removed via email, but I'd still recommend calling rather than emailing.

Not sure about the percentage thingy. I know the new system doesn't come in until Feb. I don't know whether our current defects vanish then or not, or whether they just have to wait to drop off after 12 months.

Your evaluation period depends on your sales volume.

If you open up your seller dashboard then open the defects count green arrow it will show you at the bottom of that panel what your evaulation period is.

I don't recall the number of transaction thresholds but it will be either 3-months or 12-months and that depends on your sales volume.

This is the back-looking window in which defects will be considered. So if they are before your evaluation period they no longer count.

So its going to take at least 3-months for them to drop off and up to 12-months depending on your sales volume.

Not only is it extremely clear in your photos (even at a casual glance), but you mention the neutral backing in bold, underlined text.

I am convinced some buyers just don't have the nouse to be let loose on ebay. I would say she did not read the ad, nor even look at the photos carefully and was taken by surprise when the covers came.

Then she went into ebay to check your ad & found she didn't have a leg to stand on when it came to making any sort of 'not as described' claim. So now she's having a grumble.

Her lack of care shouldn't be your responsibility though.

So I would definitely be ringing ebay and if they won't remove the dings or the feedback, reply as someone else suggested, saying the neutral backing was clear in both photos and text.

I had similar problem. I listed my item as Size 8, item specifics - Size 8, Description - Size 8, Posted to buyer - Size 8 Copped a defect for not as described and Comment "Not the expected size".  At no time did the buyer even bother to email that she was unhappy with the purchase. Contacted eBay, they will not remove the defect because it is the buyer's opinion. A load of BS!

Clothing is a bit different as sizes vary markedly between brands.

ALWAYS put measurements in your listings.

That's only 236 edits. Plus the time to pull and measure.

This isn't really going to be too helpful, but on the odd-chance it cheers anyone up after feeling a little hard-done by with buyer feedback..... Smiley LOL

I recently received the equivalent of a neutral feedback, which has the potential to affect my search ranking, on another site. The item in question was jump rings. The title was jump rings, the picture was jump rings, every single last one in the picture was an individual ring - none of them were connected to any of the others.

Neutral FB comment: I thought I was buying a chain for some reason.

Well, I have contacted Ebay CS via email and will wait for them to get back to me.

With any luck it will be removed.

Funnily enough, once I started looking at the DSR's I noticed once from about 5 months ago when my shop was still fairly new - apparently it was a SNAD, but all I remember was the buyer contacting me to say that they cushion covers just didn't suit her decor and she wanted to return them. I don't even remember getting a SNAD dispute, only the personal message. She sent back the covers and I refunded her, but only just noticed that it went down as a defect.

Oh well, I am certainly learning to be more vigilant about my DSR's!

You don't need to have a SNAD case raised against you to get a defect.

If the buyer gives you a DSR star rating of 3 or less on the question about item as described you will get a defect with no case ever having been opened.

So unless you watch your DSR's you don't know.
