Ebay Labels vs. Auspost Business

Hi there, hoping a more experienced seller might have some advice for me.

Have been selling a few months, doing OK. Sending out about 50-60 parcels / month.

Have been looking into whether I should move all my postage to the Auspost Business account or whether to continue using ebay labels. I know that ebay provides some discounts, but also that Auspost provides bulk discounts.

Have not had time to do the maths yet, has somebody else looked at this issue? Is it better to do the postage through ebay or the Auspost site?

AP are cheaper, but do your own research.

Re: Ebay Labels vs. Auspost Business

I have an Aus Post Bus Account which works well for me.

If you open an account, they often run a promotion for 3 months which puts you on to Band 3.

I hover between Band 4 and Band 5, which gives significant discounts. If I send my own plain white satchel interstate, I get $1.86 off the $9.30 label, and if I send within my own state, I get almost $4.00 off on the label. For international sales, I get around $5.00 off the label.

I don't print the labels through the Aus Post site though as I don't know the final weights. Once you have an account, you do get a QR code that they scan at the PO and apply the discount on the printout label, which I find much simpler.

Re: Ebay Labels vs. Auspost Business

Depends on what your needs and preferences are, but for me, definitely AP Business

Better discounts, and imo, a better payment system - you can pay as you go instead of having eBay bill you at the end of the month, which I personally prefer because I found it irritating to sometimes have my eBay labels taken out of my available funds, and other times from my funding source if I had no available funds.

Only downside is that AP Business won't let you add more than 10 items to one order if you link to eBay - I sell a lot of smaller items and that was a pain, so I just use it unlinked. Many of my buyers are repeats and I  just save their addresses there and do a quick check when they order that it hasn't changed.
