Fake Bidders

How can I stop fake accounts from bidding on my items?

This has happened twice now. Each listing has cost me $9.99 for promotion which eBay still hasn't refunded like they said they would.

Re: Fake Bidders

Take the normal precautions, always open an Non Paying bidder dispute after 4 days of no payment and you'll get all your fees back.

Have all your selling blocks in place to weed out buyers with 2 strikes or more in 12 months.

Re: Fake Bidders

The better way to do it would be to set a Buy It Now price at a level you are happy with. Then add "Immediate Payment Required", and you'll never have issues with non-payers again.

While I absolutely agree with everything you said, some items, like what the OP has listed, sell way better as an auction. Most of my items sell at auction. It's been several years since someone bought as a BIN. My listings are auction, with a buy it now added. Some are listed purely as BIN.

Unfortunately for the OP, they have listed a popular item, so the potential for scammers is high, plus non payment. Mostly because the buyer finds it cheaper elsewhere.
