I recently received a message from buyer in the US stating my postage rate for shoes was a joke! The total cost for each pair was only $14.00
I know the standard less than 500grams Registered Rate is around $22.00 . However when i chekced myseld and put in 3 pairs to the US which would be less than 2kg it stated post would be round $40.00. There is also no option to add eg 2kg to US package for multiple purchases
Could more experienced sellers let me know how they get aound this.
If I add a message saying contact me for combined post options I would need to do this for each listing and as I have over 500 listings it would be very time consuming.
thanks

Hi,
Funny, (NOT) I had a quite aggressive buyer yesterday (I dubbed her the cranky yanky) abusing me about postage costs to US also. I list all mine with Registered International, (to cover myself) and also offer Combined Post. I do have a message on all my listings for all buyers to contact me for Combined Post discount and a separate message for all Overseas Buyers to contact me to confirm postage prices.
(I had difficulty using the set parameters offered as there are too many possible variations & combinations)
It would be time consuming to add to every listing I know, (had to add and delete things many times to my listings) but worth it in the long run I think ?!?
I wouldn't call myself very experienced, but having been stung once with Overseas 'Item Not Received' I prefer to send Registered & yea, I acknowledge it's expensive, specially now you need to allow for the extra 10% fvf, so I assess each sale on its own merit. Normally for my smaller items, when the Buyer messages (you get a gut feeling !) I just send Air Mail & mainly to US & UK and never have a problem. The bigger made up items, I stick with Registered and most Buyers accept that no problems. This buyer yesterday was so aggressive in several messages - I think I'l be glad if she asks me to cancel, which she has hinted she might do 🙂 There are some sales I just don't think are worth the risk with this new Defective system.
I offered to reduce the postage & send this Buyers 'single item' via Std Mail yesterday & pointed out for the same price I ccould include a couple of small items if she was interested. Still she rants and raves at me. Just one of those buyers I think . . . . . .
