Hmmm, the techs "improving" the system again perhaps????????????????

This is the message I got earlier when I tried to log back in.

I normally only see that message at midnight on either Thurs or Fri night (can't remember which). Maybe there was an issue and it was just coincidence that it coincided with my updates. At least my CPU has stopped maxing out at 100%!!!
Low and behold, not an hour after I updated windoze, that dreaded little balloon just appeared in the system tray "new updates available". AARRGGHHH!!! They can wait, like they usually do LOL!

Looks like the techs may not have finished their "improvements" yet......................sigh...............

The boards (and to a lesser extent, ebay in general) have been painful for the last 18 hours. Very slow!!!
That Board Maintenance notice only lasted a few minutes....blink and you would have missed it!!! It has also been popping up fairly regularly in the last 24 hours.
Methinks the techies are playing games again

They've made some changes to My eBay on the US site (improvements in the Purchases section for a change!) so maybe we're getting the same makeover.

Do you mean on the boards?
The date format can be changed in Display settings in your Profile.
I click on my name - I am able to edit profile - ie picture, add a bit of boring stuff about moi - but - I cannot find display settings in my Profile.
Electronically challenged obviously.
All I have at the top also is my user name, Notifications, Messages. That is it - no settings.

Click on your board username and a popup should be underneath. Click on My Settings > Preferences > Display

Oh thank you so much.
I did find it.
Put a dot in dd.mm.yy.
I was using my old computer which has a lot of my photos - XP so a tad dated - think it is also only explorer 8.
