Paypal alternative

Hi,
I have been selling on eBay for about 6 months now and have 40+ positive feedback. No negative. I am sick of Paypal holding my money for no reason when I have had no issues.

I recently sold an item and mailed it immediately and Aust Post have lost the item and will be reimbursing me as the item was insured. I have given ebay and the buyer all this info and have refunded the buyer while I wait for the reimbursement from Aust Post. The buyer put in a case to ebay and they ruled in their favour even though I have all tracking info and emails from Aust Post and have refunded the buyer. Ebay has now debuted my paypal account the amount of the item even thought the buyer has been refunded so they have recived twice the money back! Should I appeal to ebay/paypal or is this a waste of my time? I have tried to speak to someone on the phone but have got nowhere.

Is there any alternative to using paypal? I know you can use a merchant account but assume this is complicated to set up etc. Does the paypal all in one payment system - Paypal Payments Standard work the same way as a normal paypal account?

Someone else mentioned Braintree to me also. Is this not allowed as a payment method on ebay?

Sorry for all the questions - I'm confused and annoyed!!

yep it's a paypal company, not sure whether the same policies apply though. That is something you would have to research.
You are not the only one fed up with the 21 day hold.

I would be ringing ebay and speak to someone tell them that the buyers payment had already been refunded (give them the paypal transaction number) tell them you want the money reversed asap.

Have a read of this thread too, there might be some useful info in there for you.

When you refunded the buyer did you use the refund button on the buyers original payment.

If you didn't how do ebay have any record of you refunding the buyer?

How did you actually process the refund through Paypal.

Did you go to the buyers original payment and press the refund button on there or did you send the buyer money through Paypal by using the Send Money Tab?

If you refunded from the original payment Paypal will not issue a second refund as there are no funds from the payment to be refunded. When you refund this way the buyers purchase would be now showing as unpaid in your selling history.

If you used the Send Money tab then there is no direct connection between the buyers payment and the refund.

I don't understand why PayPal would rule in favour of the buyer when the seller has tracking info available.
Anyone?

clarry - it is an ebay claim which requires proof of delivery - not just proof of postage.
