Hi
I sell on another ID and have pick up options for my items. Some customers want to pay through paypal. I have to refuse because there is no paypal protection. However I heard that if buyer sends the money via "give to family or friend" option through paypal then they can't do a charge back. Does any know if you can tell if the money the buyer pays you is paid via "give to family or friend" option? I may accept paypal if they pay me via that option.
Thank you for any help

They can still make a claim through a PayPal rep (they put a manual escalation on it) but normally PayPal do not bother with escalating disputes on gift payments.

If they fund the paypal payment with a credit card they can still do a chargeback.

You can avoid this by not saying pick up is available in the listing or in the delivery methods but use Pay on Pickup as one of your payment options so the only way they can pick up is if they pay cash.
