Posting items overseas from Sydney

Hi All
Just want to see what couriers or freight companies people are using to send items overseas
I've been using skippypost which has proven to be slightly cheaper than Aust Post BUT EXTREMELY EXTREMELY slow!!!
You first send the item to their office which is convenient but you lose 2 days. Then the item is sent to Singapore which is then sorted. Then its rerouted to the destination. My items are under 500g so their pretty small items. I've searched and searched but cant find anything quick and cheap. Aust Post is ok with timing but pretty pricey...looking at about $30 to send something small to say singapore or UK.

Cheers!

I reluctantly use Aus Post. Only because its eBay approved. Don't know why as they are hopepless with losing parcels. Anyhow, I would stick with AP, and unfortunatley the customer has to wear the postage costs.

Re: Posting items overseas from Sydney

I have yet to find a more cost effective alternative to Australia Post. Did check out Skippy and seems like they charge an additional $9 as shipment charge. So you are better off sending multiple packages. More importantly for me, they do cubic weights for all packages, whereas Australia Post does volumetric measures on only packages weighing over 1kg. So Skippy rates seem to zoom up for light weight larger sized packages

Re: Posting items overseas from Sydney

I have been using Skippy Post for many years now. They do charge $9 per bulk shipment to cover the cost of sending the parcels to them for processing. All items I have sent have been charged at weight rather than volumetric pricing.

Their website has a shipping calculator for anyone wishing to check out their charges.

They are slow but in your listings you can offer their service as an economy option and include the approximate shipping times in the listing description.

Buyers can then pick the option that suits them.

Australia Post are way too expensive especially with tracking.
