Return Request

Just Received our first return request on another selling. I think I have done everything right  but I am not sure...

Buyer says Item not as discribed. He/She did give a reason but I cannot remember it exactly. Something about dent being a lot larger than was stated in discription. I thought OK they are not happy with their Purchase I offered a complete refund as my items state including postage. I went to Click and Send Australia Post and created a return postage label and posted it to the buyer via eBay. That was 2 days ago. Followed eBays path as they requested and it is all recorded. I have checked the Tracking Daily and the buyer still has not lodged the item at a PO. How long before I can get Paypal to release these funds if the item is not returned? Further more is there anyway I can recover my $8.00 from C&S is the label is not used?

Thank You

I know you said you sent the return label two days ago, but has the buyer got it yet?

I dont know it was sent via eBay and they have recorded the tracking number. When I try to track the number via AP it just says

Initiated

No other information eBay have the tracking number as they have indicated to me with their emails.

Thank You

You can cancel an unused C&S label you have raised.

We did that a while back when we raised one in error.

From memory it took about 3-weeks to see the funds come back but they did cancel it and refund.

Just out of curiosity (as I haven't had any INADs since some changes were made to the request system), what format options do eBay provide to upload the label? i.e. Can you upload the original PDF, or do you have to upload an image?

The buyer will have a limited amount of time to return the item, as well, but I'm not sure what happens if they don't, however judging by some of the threads on the buying board, it's not a huge amount of time (maybe 5 or so business days?) and there have been some buyers whose cases were closed after failing to return an item in the available window. (Keep in mind your buyer may have dropped it in a street box, if it would fit, so if they did that a scan event may not occur until the day it's delivered to you).

If you used C&S I would ring them and request a cancellation of the postage label. In my cases, they usually refund within 7 days unlike eBay where despite they say they refund within 25 days I have always had to follow up after 25 days and generally don't get the refund until around 35 days, and worse sometimes I'm told the refund will be processed within 25 days, making a total of 50 days!
