Selling multiple items with variations - the system and automatic calculation of quantities

Hi everyone

I have a weird question that I couldn't find info for and was hoping for some help from experienced sellers.

Sample scenario - I have 10 items of the same thing and would like to list with quantity/price variation of one for $5, five for $20 and 10 for $30

Question - to list like this would I need a minimum of 10 items or 16 items? If I had just 10 items and sold just one, would the 10-for option go out of stock? Or would I need a bundle of one, a bundle of five and a bundle of 10 because I would treat each bundle on offer as a separate offer?

I hope that makes sense.

Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately, on eBay there's no way to set a global quantity (I really wish there was), it can only be done on a per variation basis so you need to have enough stock to be able to supply each variation, just because of the possibility that one person could come along and buy them all.

i.e. You would need 16 in total to list 1 x 1, 1 x 5, and 1 x 10.

Thanks DG. That's what I thought. I am thankful you could see exactly what I meant and were able to give a clear answer.

I think in that sort of situation pushing the savings on combined postage might be the best option.
