This happened to me recently, panicked buyer contacts me on ebay at 5pm wanting to pick up item in next 30minutes for sons birthday next day, let down by large department store. Husband is driving to my suburb not knowing the address, with low phone battery but hoping to get my phone number and contact details to see if pickup is available. No problems I told the buyer, happy to help you out and will be available heres my phone number and once you buy the item I can call you with the address. She bought the item on ebay and paid on pickup. Later that night got a message from ebay saying my account had been suspended for trying to sell outside of ebay, contacted them the next day to explain the situation but there is no comprehension, all listings were removed from my store and store account was deleted. Ultimately lifted the suspension but now have to wait 21 days for paypal to realese funds or contact ebay 3 days after an item is delivered to release the funds manually. Selling on ebay for over 15 years means nothing. Anyone know how to speak to ebay customer service that can comprehend and understand anything outside the square??

Oh this situation is out of control as your experience shows, I feel for you. A seller for 15 years, offering amazing customer service and as you say, it all seems to mean N-O-T-H-I-N-G to eBay, it's a disgrace to think they don't even question sellers first, just line you up and shoot you basically !
I know there are several sellers on these boards who have been permanently suspended for similar or less, so I'm sure they will all sympathize too. All I can suggest is, I have always found the 'Call Me Back' customer service staff seem to be slightly better than those you are directed to when you call or email .
As far as the hold on money goes, I opened a second ID some time ago and was advised all funds would be on hold for 21 days so I rang Paypal and advised I had an existing account, however, they were not agreeable to lift it, so I advised I would be contacting the Financial Ombudsman (as technically they cannot hold YOUR money), which I did, it's a quick easy on-line form - all held funds were released within 3 days and they have never held a cent since. I'm sure it would be worth mentioning to Paypal what has happened and that you have had an account for 15 years, they may lift the hold as they do not like being directed to do so by FOS. When this system was first introduced a couple of years back there was a lot of discussion here on the boards about it and as I recall, all members who reported to the FOS were successful and I have a feeling paypal are fined for with holding your money.
Hopefully one of the more experienced sellers will be along and offer some more constructive advice

I have cancelled my accounts as evil bay restricted my account because I asked what part of my city a seller was located to pick up items. Then they would not let me bid on an item I have been wating three years for. It sold $200 under what I would have paid.!!!

Didn't know they were slapping down on buyers just as hard.

Has anyone thought of requesting a members details - or has that been censored by eBay as well?

I've been reading through lots in here and learning!
Call me pedantic or 'picky', but that's a very poorly worded response from eBay. 'There is not enough basis for you to be sent the notice' suggests there is some basis, but not enough.
I can't see any basis at all and the message should have been embodied in that manner. As it stands eBay seem to be exculpating their action somewhat by suggesting the basis was there, enough for them to become engaged with it in the first place, but not enough to continue.
No, I'm not trying to cause trouble. Really, I'm just overwhelmed with what I'm finding. It wasn't like this 10 years ago. I'm finding a lot of it a bit scary to be honest, especially given that I correspond quite a good deal out of the ordinary with our customers as they look to us to source various product for them. It's good customer relations anyway.
Oh well, just my two bobs worth. But it's an old post and probably should let dogs lie I guess.

Probably that can still be done, at the moment kazam. But how many members know how to get those contact details by going through "advanced search"? Very few I suspect...............
All in all this stance by eBay would seem to be a no-win situation for everyone - including eBay themselves, where a buyer or seller asking an innocent question can run the risk of both parties being banned from communication with anyone for a week.
Stupidity rules yet again.......................

Trouble is, you can only get a member's details if you have had dealings with them.
That is, you have to have bought from them, or sold to them before you can
get their details.
Round and round we go..................................
