eBay's massive 15% off every item this Sunday 22/6

Looks like a very big promotion is coming up for eBay. 15% off (some select accounts will have 25%) off an eBay purchase upto a maximum discount of $100

Hopefully this is good news for both buyers and sellers

From what I understand, the code will be provided during checkout, once you've committed to purchase the item.

Looks like the 15% discount is only for single transactions paid with paypal when over $50.

So we will get no benefit from this as our items average about $10 each.

Unless someone orders multiple items of more than the $50 total and then pays in a single transaction, which most of our buyers don't.

We would rather get 200 free listings. These are of more use to us.

Clarry, you are talking with your seller's hat on there.

This is a promotion that is actually aimed at giving the buyers something.....you know those people who give you their hard earned money so you can stay in business to use the free listings that seem to regularly come the seller's way.

Don't forget, it is ultimatelhy the buyers who are paying the extra fees that ebay has imposed...any half way decent seller would be passing the increases on to their buyers.

Don't begrudge the buyers a little bit of help occasionally.

Lyndal, I think you misunderstood where Clarry was coming from.  

As his store doesn't sell items over $50 (unless a buyer did make the multiple purchase to get to that value. AND paid as a combined purchase), then no Clarry doesn't get any benefit from this as a seller - as in no additional sales due to the value of what he sells.

I don't believe Clarry is having a whinge, just stating the obvious.

If i buy from a seller who is in hong kong but is selling on ebay australia several items that total over $50 do I qualify for that discount.  as in one item is only 9.95 so i'd need to buy 5.... (i assume postage is not included, not that it matters in this transaction as its free post)

I can answer the postage question, the postage price is incvluded in the transaction amount, so if it is $10 plus $5 post, it is discount off the $15

onekiwi0 actually you'd need to buy six of your $9.95 item to bump it over the $50 mark, otherwise you'd come up 25c short!
