When I click on "create label" it just loads and loads but nothing happens. I've tried a different browser and cleared my cache/cookies. Could it be because it's Friday and they are doing technical work? Is anyone else encountering the same issue?
Thanks,

That is a very important point to note.
Printing an eBay label only registers that you "printed an eBay label" - is that correct?
If after attaching label to item, you then post in a red box, the item doesn't register as "sent" - is that correct?
SO to ensure lodgement is registered, the item must be handed over a PO counter - is that correct?
I've never used eBay labels, but from what I can gather on here, especially with recent posts in reference to the new postage defects, I believe that to be the case. It needs to be handed over the counter and scanned into the system, otherwise it's anyone's guess as to when it gets scanned next. It may not be until it's delivered and if it arrives late, then you gain a defect because you have no proof that it was posted within your handling time.

Yes.
But that applies to any parcel and eBay postage is marginally cheaper. Much less for <1kg that will fit in a B1 box.

Correct, it will be marked as posted, but not validated shipping. Given it will have tracking if tracking shows late delivery and buyer doesn't even leave fb or tick that box it will be auto defact unless a validated shipping activity is scanned within your handling time. Either a counter scan or in transit scan. Increasing handling time also increases the chance of a distribution center scan within time frame.
Still not convinced they make full allowance for weekends
If labels dont load check to see if you get confirmation email before reprocessing. if you do get confirmation use that to reprint. If you reprocess when you have confirmation you are likely to pay twice.
