I am miffed as to why it takes certain sellers almost a week to actually post a won item after receiving a msg from eBay to say it has been 'SENT'. Sent does not mean posted and it is very misleading to a buyer. I experienced this very problem most recently and as a result, the item I won arrived a number of days beyond eBay's predicted delivery dates. Can anything be done to alleviate this situation? Thanks, Roy.

You must realize ebay sellers are often amateurs selling from home and have full time jobs.

Then not all sellers mark as sent immediately.

On top of that sellers are at the mercy of the AP postal system and often the dates given are estimates only.

If you are after an item in a hurry then select a seller offering Express Post.

Otherwise not much can be done to alleviate AP delays.

If a seller is using ebay postage the item is marked as sent as soon as the seller processes the label.

The tracking is only activated once the seller posts the item and it is scanned.

When the parcel arrives is calculated by adding the seller's handling time to the AP estimated delivery time not the time the item is marked as sent.

We are not eBay staff here, only buyers and sellers like yourself, so there is nothing we can do to change the system.

Have you looked at the seller's handling time?  Does it say "the seller USUALLY posts within "X" number of days after receiving cleared payment?  Are you taking weekends and public holidays into acount?   Once a label is printed it is marked as "posted", and as a seller myself this annoys me too, but there is nothing I can do to change it. I wish it said "label created" instead.

Ebay’s Estimated delivery dates are eBay fantasy, best on the best of the best of the fastest , if you rely on those eBay guesses you will be disappointed much of the time
