As much as eBay has many glitches, this sounds more like a drop out of your internet.

Re: session expired ending up to commit twice?

Did I get this right? You bought an item, then you bought it again, discovered you'd bought it twice so you then bought one of them again (a THIRD time)?

If there's ever a glitch when you're in the middle of buying something it pays to check both your purchase history and your paypal account before you proceed. I had a problem buying from another site yesterday and didn't know whether the purchase had gone through so the first thing I did was check my paypal account. I waited probably 5 minutes to make sure it hadn't gone through and only then did I go through checkout again.

Re: session expired ending up to commit twice?

no i commited to 1 item then on the next page it said the session expired so i clicked that blue link to retry and that's when i had noticed i've commited to buying 2 of the same item, so i removed one of the duplicated items from the list before buying and bought just the 1 item, now i have the other as a unpaid item in my shopping cart that i cant get rid of.

Re: session expired ending up to commit twice?

If you have committed to buy, you can't just remove it

If a buyer has committed to buy something, only the seller can cancel it

And they are under no obligation to do so

Re: session expired ending up to commit twice?

Contact the seller and explain what happened and ask nicely if they would be willing to cancel the second purchase. If they agree, do your bit by accepting the cancellation when it appears in your inbox. I can't tell you how many times buyers have asked to cancel, the seller agrees, then the buyer ignores the cancellation email. The seller then has to wait 8-10 days for it to time out before they can relist the item. Very annoying!
