Babysat today such a good baby - more worried about my neice's new kittens (they are not eating) - s.i.l. will take them to the vet. I suggested some weet-bix in milk.

Hello all. I hope everyone has been safe and well. Tonight is my last night at work, so I am looking forward to having the next four days off. Working four on and four off is great. I have been a carpenter all my life and used to working 6 to 7 days a week. When I landed this job in the mines and was told that I would be working 4 on and 4 off, I thought I would be able to get a lot done at home. But in reality the 4 days goes so quick that I still don't have enough time to do all the task done. I don't know how I will go if I have to go back to working 6 days a week again. Contrary to beliefs, I do not get paid as much here as what I was getting as a carpenter, but this is by far a better job.

My wife can not stand modern technology and so does not use a computer very much. I, on the other hand like it very much and like to keep in touch with my family via electronic communications. I have a facebook page, but my wife hates me having it. She believes that it is an evil thing to have, so I can't talk to her about what my family or her family are doing. She knows I have the page and knows that I do not do anything bad on there, but every time I mention facebook, she gets very upset. Some of her friends are my friends on FB and they talk to me about what goes on when I am with my wife. I find it very hard because I feel guilty having a FB page, but I enjoy it and only use it to communicate with my family. It is a simular story with Texting on the phone. My wife gets very upset if I text anyone other then her. I think it is because she does not understand modern technology and has heard to many bad stories. Do you think I am doing the wrong thing by her; keeping my FB page? I have given up texting anyone other then her and my mother but I find it hard not to text my friends and family. Still that is what marriage is all about, making sacrifices and keeping each other happy.

And yes the OH loves his golf and of course they talk nothing but sport all the time......its so good as it gets him right out of my hair and i can get on with important stuff lol

HUgs Chris and yes its dammed hard to keep the balance in life . Just my personal opinion but i think we all have the right to live our lives the way we want to live them within reason.........life is way too short to be controlled by someone else even if a wife husband partner etc.

Lovely also to keep in touch with family on the computer.........and as most mining areas in Australia are very isolated..........you wouldnt be seeing family members on a very regular basis.

Just a thought have you tried showing her how to use the computer.....or thought about enrolling her in lessons at all.......and or getting her one of those little computers........i got a fabulous one on the place where one gets the daily catch.........is great to use if i go away.

Personally i wouldnt be giving up my Facebook or my texting......the thing is if you give up one thing...........whats the next thing that you are expected to forego

Gooooooooooooooood morning everyone and off very soon to check on the workmen who are supposedly doing the guttering today..........they have asbestos guttering to remove and have to be replaced all in all a very full on day ...........again. Am toying with the idea of having a break over to New Zealand fairly soon..........feel the need to catch up with family as Uncle is getting quite aged although still super well thankfully.

Not having a good night tonight trimmed lil princes nails and he moved and I've cut the top of his little finger 😞 Now I am really stressed I'll be in trouble tomorrow when he gets picked up for his visit by the powers that be.
