I woke up in bed by myself this morning.
But the loungeroom was rather full.
Hubby on the couch.....one son in the recliner...........one son on the floor infront of the air conditioner.
Austar on the cricket chanel.
Both sons have gone back to their own beds..............and hubby is getting down lights.

Deb there is a recipe but I forgot it... It wasnt precise measurements. And I also forgot it has detol in it. It was the only thing that worked in swarms of mozzies and sand flies.
the other thing that worked was taking vit B before going camping.
the recipe had
- baby oil
- baby shampoo (these help it go on and create a barrier)
- detol (to stop infection maybe)
- citronella oil
- metho or kero (more protection probably)
some people used to put eucalyptus

Did it have any lavender oil in it? When I was a kid I had to put lavender oil on my pillow because I reacted badly to mozzie bites. It was supposed to repel them.

Good afternoon Stringers 🙂
Early start this morning before the heat descended. Now hiding indoors in the airconditioning.
Flashie, those pics are incredible. As well as being actively involved in the RFS, having lived through bushfires in the mountains and witnessed the loss by people over here in the fires a couple of years ago, I do feel for what your fellow states folk are going through. Looks like a cooler day for you - hope it has brought a little relief.
I see some great community spirited posts on the boards alerting folk to opportunities for assistance in the fire affected areas. That is fantastic.

Wow Flashie! Those pics are incredible, especially the first one. What an ominous sight for the people living there. Are things settling down a bit now, are are communities still in danger? I'll have to watch the news to see. I hope you and your family are safely away from it all.
