I don't see what difference it makes to you Poddster.  You can just use another one.

Donna, one can only hope that the "Report Button Abuse" will be addressed at some time or other, I am not holding my breath though.

I, personally would like to see it go alltogether and let the moderators do their job instead.

But like I said I am not holding my breath.

I raise this from time to time because if no one does it just becomes the accepted thing, and it is wrong.

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Seems kinda funny that you'd complain about, considering.

.

There is no way moderators are going to be paid to monitor all the ebay forum boards. How many people would that take (to monitor all the boards around the world 24/7) and at what cost.?

I think you need to accept the report abuse button is here to stay. Has it always been there since the eBay forums started? If so, why do you think there is even a chance it will be removed?

It doesn't bother me at all, that there is a report abuse button.

Ummm... you have misread what was written.

It is not the fact that there is a "Report Abuse Button" that is not the problemm it is as iI have written it "Report Button Abuse"  is the problem. There are some who delight in it for whatever reason best known to themselves

Bump 🙂

Well, that is not going to change either is it? What I said is still valid -  the boards are self-moderated (by members reporting perceived abusive posts), there is no way anyone is going to be paid full-time to moderate them.

Might be about time people got used to that idea, and stop wickering on.

reckon this one is a gonner, for a campaign against ebay or related services

It is not a campaign against eBay or any of it's services, regardless how you try to make it seem that way.

I fact it is just to highlight the inequality and the disadvantage that some worthwhile posters are under.

Many posters have been "put to the sword" as a result of the malicious mass reporting by one group or another.

In a lot of cases those groups are not even active buyers or sellers and hide behind either marking their feedback private (in most of those cases the feedback is 0) or they just acquire the minimum so that they are able to have more than 10 posts a day.
