Poddster, you're totally correct. What many people don't realise is that while many cliques band together and mass-report, they also have 10-15 poster ids - so they can just sign in and out reporting all day. For some that don't work like a... a particular poster, that's no skin off her nose but for others it must take up quite a lot of her day when she could be doing something to enhance her life, so that even if the post is removed, the OP has still won by the fact that their reporters have expended much energy, time and frustration over having the post removed.

In other words, the OP is in a win-win situation 🙂

True the trolls will report for the sake of it, some posters have problems with other posters, so that's a great way of hurting someone.

As stated above, some people are just bored, who knows? Fact is the iq's of these people are so low that the normal among us could never figure it out.

But, it is not the Report Button that is the issue. It is the generic, copy past slaps from eBay moderators.

Of the many I have had, some are so bland that there was no way it could have been considered  as anything other than tongue in cheek, even a bit of fun between known posters, but the mod's don't have time to read each and every report - so you need to appeal if you feel strongly enough about it being malicious or unwarranted.

Everyone who knows me knows I don't report, can't see the point. If I see something ridiculously stupid I think it should stay for all to enjoy :^O

I seriously think the report button is used spitefully & I have certainly been at the end of many spiteful reports.

I hate it when posts disappear because it leaves one wondering what the whole thread is about.

I would prefer the posts left on the thread, slap  the poster if reported but put up the person who reported it. That would stop the cowardly, anonymous bp'ers.

I believe very soon there will be a report revolution on ebay. So many cliques and individuals are being outted - also defectors from "report groups" are revealing all and their methods are pretty basic and anyone can do it. Very, very soon these reporters will find their own medicine rather bitter to taste but it will solve the problem.
