Not too far from the truth, Jane, I got such a fright this morning, I was a little sharp with the stupid woman.

i could never leave my dogs inside alone......they would trash the place.

they have already decided that the lounge is a hurdle that must be jumped as often as possible:^O

I don't think it would be right to label your dogs as dangerous either, when  

they're not , and think #15 is the way to go, the second one, though I do fancy 

the first, lol.  

i want a sign on my gate asking people to ensure they have the ability to outrun the dogs if they enter the yard.
i have had the same problem with people driving into the house yard, they leave gates open or i had someone drive in just after the floods they opened the gates and drove around my soggy yard, i dont know how they didnt get bogged because i sure did.

maybe a wireless doorbell with a sign asking people to ring the bell to announce their arrival and to wait for someone before entering the yard. i wouldnt mention the dogs, tell them there are small kids or something *shrug*

Gate is now padlocked with a coded lock (so we don't have to worry about losing the key).

Had run out laminating pouches, so have put up a temporary sign and am getting a professional coreflute sign made. A BIG one for halfwits.

Snakes, we used to have a great wizz-bang cordless intercom doorbell system in our old house, but bloody dogs ate the receiver part of it (I know there's some kind of irony in that statement) and I haven't been able to find another 😞

But haven't looked for a while, your post has reminded me to have another search for one, thank you.

Grizz, our young dogs would also trash the place if they were left loose inside, so the older, responsible dogs get the run of the house and the three young dogs get shut into their bedroom - a room with absolutely no furniture, just their beds, toys and a water bowl. (Also a fan and a heater for appropriate weather).

Thanks Raqshaki, that's actually great wording, not saying dangerous dogs, but that dogs are guarding the property.

Hawk, I think I'm going to put a Private Property Keep Out sign at the road gate (our driveway is about 1km long, and has three gates - first two are permanently open -cattle grates- and the house-yard gate is kept closed). For some reason we get a few rubberneckers driving down our long driveway and then turning around inside the second gate area. Gives me the willies when I'm here alone.

I thought it was so odd that she "thought it was her friend's house" - can't be much of a friend if she doesn't know what her house looks like ?:|
