regardless of how you go about it the correct answer will ALWAYS be 1

friday night and bored!    Whatever the "correct" answer is, we all had our own reasons for our conclusions. I had 3 answers but went with what I thought was logical. I think it is wrong to point out individual posters  who got it "wrong"..too me there really isn't a right answer as we can all interpretate the puzzle in our own logic.  It really is very open ended, unless you are a Maths Professor:-) 

My first answer was 3.5, thank goodness grandson pointed out my mistake, he is still laughing at me 😞

That is not just someone having a guess that is someone telling others they are wrong... but where the others wrong?
