Afternoon all!

 

Hi JVH hope it wasn't too hot on the golf course for your OH today!  Actually no I have a bit of a reputation as a xmas scrooge lol - hate putting up the xmas tree (but I do for the kids) - and no house decorations.  I would be over the moon if someone else stepped up and offered to be the host lol, but they never do!  I'm fortunate I have 2 ovens so easier for me in the long run.

 

Hi kezza sounds like you are suffering over there in that heat!  Was a lovely warm day here today.  Had lunch out while the pooch was being scalped and shampooed!  Stay cool!

 

Dame thinking of you!  Xmas is tough enough for some people to wade through.  First xmas after a loss is top of the list!  Hope you are ok!

Miss and yes the tree plus all the decorations can be a bit daunting.

I can remember about 10 years ago that my son cooked a whole lot of asian dishes for something very different for Christmas dinner everyone had a lovely time and then the younger ones all had a dip in the pool

There always seems to be a lot of to dos for the one that is the host/hostess:)

Hi JVH what a lovely idea with the Asian food. Personally no fan of turkey lol. I'll probably leave the turkey to the others and enjoy some garlic prawns with a salad and a champagne. I'm so easily pleased!

Do you marinate your garlic prawns in with a touch of brandy at all

Cant beat garlic prawns geez i could eat some right about now lol

Had a great time at the Christmas party meet another mum with BPD and we had a chat about our mental illnesses had a laugh at the things we thought were going on but in our imagination.

C got a prezzie but it wasnt age appriopriate he thought so do I it was hot wheels cars and a track way too young for him.  We got a Christmas hamper and I gave some things to the people up the back as well.

Than we went shopping and C got himself some prezzies I dunno want he wants anymore.

Twas lovely and cool last night could sleep easily nice that the humidity has dropped lets hope it stays that way.

Hi Kezza and yes the kids get to an age/stage where the parent hasnt got a clue what they want.....i guess its all part of them growing up

Hi JVH hadn't thought of brandy in the prawns but sounds like a lovely touch and I have brandy in the cupboard. Do you add it at the end of the cooking process? I usually add chilli peppers too!

Hi Kezza kids grow up way too fast. I know all my nieces and nephews are into the iPod touch I'm always buying iTunes gift cards. One for them and one for me lol!

Hi i put the brandy in with the butter and the garlic and i go super duper easy on the chilli otherwise can kill the prawn taste.

Bet you are super busy cooking up a storm in the kitchen:)

Morning all

Hi JVH getting excited about the prawns now. Already ordered from someone in the biz ensures they are massive and fresh lol. Order off him 2-3 times a year always a treat. Will definitely use the brandy and yes very very light with the chille.
Well someone rang last night and asked if they could bring 3 extra people Xmas day (the extras already have family so may or may not want lunch). May or may not come/stay and only this person who rang me even knows them. A way of a quick and easy catch up for this person. Think it is a bit cheeky but hey it's Xmas. Now do I buy extra presents to stick under the tree just in case?
OH has to have a bone scan Monday and a couple other tests so will be in the local h most of the day. An infection that won't heal they think now may be a bone disease issue.

Hi kezza hope the heat has subsided a bit. Off to walk the pooch. Free day/night but going to a lovely restaurant tomorrow night with friends. Looking forward to it!
