I love Op Shops, books, dvd's, some 'resellable items ahem" why spend big just make yourself look big?? You do what makes you happy (and saves you money)

Those that claim to be offended by other's use of second hand clothing are merely displaying a silly phobic like attitude that smacks of their own insecurity.

Hunting for bargains in second hand shops and markets is the best fun ever!!:)

agree Vintage!  I have a friend who buys most of her clothes and stuff for her grandy too...

Thanks Gill, sometimes it is the fun of the hunt that makes it worthwhile.:)

I remember when my sister in law had babies I bagged up all the baby clothes I had in the house and gave them to her. I thought she would be overjoyed cause there was so much and they belonged to her nephew. It was all in good nick too.

She told me I was insulting her and asked me why I thought she'd be interested in all my old rubbish?. 😮

Gees - my kids had hand me downs from everywhere and everyone - I accepted EVERYTHING! And was grateful even if the clothes weren't in the best condition. And not because I was poor and desperate.

I was poor, not exactly desperate though. :^O

Ive always handed clothes in good knick off to friends. Some of Mr11's clothes clothed another 2 babies before being returned to me when Mr7 was born and he wore them as well.

Recently I cleaned out Mr7's drawers, the recipient of a giant bag of Ben10 stuff was overjoyed, he thought it was Christmas!

Lis.... My beautiful Samantha was 5 months old when my bestie gave birth to twin girls, the second Sammy grows out of her clothes they are bagged and handed over! Ive clothed those girls their whole 7 months of life! My friend Loves it as she knows my family go crazy buying for my kids and everything is immaculate (even unworn with tags!!)

I love looking in op shop.............I dont think people realise you can get new stuff there.  I wish I knew about then when I had little ones.

I'm going to buck the trend here.

My childhood experience was that to get your clothes from the op shop was the ultimate humiliation and proof that your single parent couldn't provide for you adequately.

Now in my maturity, I know that is not correct and have tried on occasions to embrace the pre-loved movement but I just can't.  I somehow feels like it's betraying my mum and her efforts.

My loss I suppose.

Lurker its changed heaps.  Miss and I go looking through them for certain stuff cause you can get name brands.

Yeah Crystal, I know.  In my head I know that's correct but in my heart I just can't do it.
