One has to wonder which direction this thread would have taken had the O.P. been the cat owner.

What if the op was the cat owner and a stray dog had invaded here home and attacked her cat?????

What if my rabbit is one of those types that laughs and nods at the bumper sticker that says "A FLAT CAT IS A GOOD CAT"?

And what if he knew (just knew!!) what my reaction would be when faced with a strange cat inside my sanctuary?

And what if, he purposely invited the cat into our house on the premise of offering...oh I don't even want to think about what he was offering as an enticement...?

And what if he told the cat that my purple fluffy slippers were actually made from real fur taken from some distant relative of his (god rest his soul) and that I should be punished?

And what if he purposely chose the furthest possible hiding spot in the house from the back door knowing I would get madder and madder the longer it took to get the cat out of the house?

But that's a mute point - my pet would NOT be in someone elses house terrorising their animals lol.

Dont mean to be picky but is it 'mute' or 'moot'?  (i recently corrected someone, hope i was right LOL)

I always thought it was moot but I recently designed a bank and I had to design a 'mute drawer' -  apparently this is what a secure drawer or safe is called where they put their dud coins and notes that are not worth anything and shouldn't be in circulation.

The person explaining the drawer to me told me if was where we get the term 'mute point' from.
