After giving this some serious thought I have come up with a solution to the problem and that solution is a broom.
You could swipe and sweep a cat all the way out the door and then use it to hook the rabbit from under the lounge.
This should work perfectly unless the cat likes riding a broom around the floor (my cat loves a mop to hang onto).
