It is not right though, that posters would copy that private info from gleaned from elsewhere and post it here imo. That definitely contravenes eBays posting rules.

That also includes checking out a posters sellers id & items for sale, if they manage to connect the posters id with the sellers ac.
is that against the rules ? Looking at a members items for sale ?

No, it isn't right or acceptable. Totally agree with that.
I sometimes make my feedback private for that reason but decided that I really don't care if anyone wants to know what I buy or sell. They must be really bored! :^O

I think It's also the main way dishonest sellers are found and reported .

But real life and forum life seriously should not mix. Adding CS members to your private FB is asking for trouble.
