Frizzles are purdier ...

Hey DDU I'll lock them in the hen house tonight but what do they sleep on?

I managed to get a great little wooden fruit box with a lid so I attached the lid on the laying shelf with some hay and the box is on the ground filled with hay.

Do they sleep on that or only for laying?

There's a ladder do they perch?

Oh yeah I guess mine looks more like a frizzle, he said the name frizzle maybe we got it mixed up?

It'd better be fox proof X-( half the hen house is on concrete but we surrounded the outside base in wire as seen in the photo but I think the whole yard has previously been used for chickens and the fence is dig in to the ground.

I think you're right, I think it's a frizzle, one had a top notch but not that much as on the Polish in those links

They will either sleep on a perch or in the box. YOu want to encourage a perch as they will poo in the box.

HEY DDU!!

We went to see a crazy chook man!
He was great gave us so much info, he said by the sounds of it our little white one is a hen, he will have to see the duck to tell us what breed & sex. He had ducks, chooks, turkeys everything. We got two more and might go back for a rooster.

They've been reporting this week that the price of eggs are going to increase shortly due to the shortage of chickens. Apparently the price of feed has increased so the battery egg farmers are reducing their stock.

It's very, very wrong.

I reckon anyone with the space and the inclination should put a coop in their backyard with 3 chooks in it .. and put the battery farmers out of business.

I am too terrified of chickens to ever be comfortable with having 3 in my backyard.
My daughter has 6....... that can be my share.....
