lol. Mine doesn't look like that - mine is a battered little pot from the 70's that I inherited.. New shiny ones are over rated.

@i-need-a-martini wrote:You will never get it in a bar Karen because the modern machines won't allow the water flow to slow down. That's why you always end up with an Espresso. It needs a handmade extraction.
I have only it done properly in a cafe in Surry Hills in Sydney. They have a special machine specifically for them. They pack the coffee in tight so that the water has to work really hard to make it through the grounds.
I keep stuffing up my coffee machine doing that. Grinding it fine to get the strength and packing it too tight. Pain to unstuff machine, but so nice to drink.

I drink my coffee black with a little sugar. I buy freshly ground beans at the Central Market. Currently I'm drinking something from Bali and last week from San Martino I think it was. I use a paper filter; no fancy machines. What does that say about me?

Freaky you can't pack the grind tight on non-commercial coffee machines - it clogs them up. You can only pack the small Italian espresso pots.

Yes, I know all too well how to clog my machine up. It happens regularly and it's a pain to unclog. ![]()
