Lurker-not at all -just mentioned parting the cheeks could make it easier.

Mates are trying to talk me into buying a slow cooker.

Bit worried about the wiring in this old flat i live in.

Ok if im home but why start some tucker in a slow cooker when i get

home from work at 5.30 pm.--cot times 8 pm.............................................Richo.

I'd actually advise against a slow cooker. For me, it changes the texture of the meat as well as the taste. I do have one, but the only recipe that I've tried that worked for me was slow cooked lamb shanks.

hahaha I forgot to put in the Woman LOL  It's all good richo.

I have a slow cooker.  Love lamb shanks in it and I also have a slow cooker recipe for a bolognaise sauce that is to die for.  Casserole type thingys I do in it .  I mostly use it on days when we are both at golf all day so I don't have to worry about cooking anything after we get home.

The beef cheeks though were pure slow oven and cook top.  I cut them up into about 2-3" chunks.

Never had any success with cooking -"redgum"-silverside.

Roasted a bit by mistake once--a failure lol.

Bit worried about using one because i live in an old flat and the wiring

is not the best.---if im not home............Richo.

If you're going to have to be there to supervise the electrics anyway I can't see the point of a slow cooker.  You might as well just use a slow oven or very low heat on the cooktop.

I see the only real advantage of the slow cooker is that I can go away and not worry about it - obviously not an option in your case.

Save your money.

Lurker-right on.

I survive using an electric frypan for weekends roasts and a frying pan on the gas top during the week.

It was the novelty of the item -that made me think about it.................Richo.

Richo, would you like some simple recipes? Tell us what kind of foods you like to eat ... and whether you have a proper oven ...

Katy -nice of you to offer.

Im ok--have a few tried and proven -signature dishes-lol.

Took a long to work out what vegies went in first -and last......................................Richo.

Beefcake has me on a slow simmer:
