i hate doing stuff like that i am having problems with trying to upload pics onto the computer, not happy but oh well i will have to give it a thorough checking out tomorrow or whenever

If you need to download printer drivers I found it best to get them from the manufacturer's website (they are more up to date on there) than from the CDROM's that come with the printer.

i have the urge to stomp on things

I have found that when all else fails reading the instructions helps

seriously most printers want the setup run before the printer is plugged in so it loads the drivers ready for when its plugged in for the first time.

the problem is i keep getting 'the printer driver package cannot be installed'.

grrrr i'm going to give up trying on my lappy and try on the older XP lappy instead.

I take it is is a brand new printer?  A new printer might not be compatible with your Windows op system if it is an older one?

I had a mfc printer/scanner that I had to dispose of because it wasn't compatible with the Windows 7 on my new laptop.

Good Morning.
