Gee thats cheap per mtre for glass splashback.

Theres also a plastic splashback product (cant remember the name atm) thats looks similar to glass,just be mindful for both about how close the stove is to each.

 

Yep thats what i said before re the price kitchen companys charge,just crazy.

Also if you go through ikea or even not you can go there & they will design your kitchen for you,all you need is the measurements,where windows,doors etc are.

You can spend any amount you wont on a kitchen,but your budget is small,if you take your time & research (which will send you crazy after awhile) you can do it without blowing your budget.

We have been in our house for 6mths & still dont have a splashback in the kitchen,at the picking colours time i had been ill & it was too much.

 

Have you thought of a mood board?

 

I've gone from tiles,glass,stainless steel and back again lol!

Now i just have too much on,it will happen.

We ended up getting Smithton Joinery to do ours.  By the time all the extras were added to the Bunnings packs it was about the same price. 

Yep I've heard good things about Smithton Joinery. That's where my sister's ex did his trade. There is one out the back of Devonport a friend used and he was cheaper than Bunnings but he got cancer and took time off work and delivered her kitchen months late. I'd still consider him though if he is still doing kitchens. I got a place from wynyard to come and quote and he never sent me the quote, that was last August. 

 

I pretty much know the finishes and the type of colours, bamboo or laminate flooring not too dark not to pale not too grainy. Grey benches. White cupboards. White splashback probably tile not glass for $$$ reason.  And then the colour will come from the blind, pictures, kettle, tea towel. Easily changed in two years when red is old hat.

I'm a fan of SJ. They did a great job on our kitchens and made me a great work table.  They do work down the coast too.

 

Well I'm happy chappy. I had a guy come measure last August and he never sent me the quote. His loss oh well. But I wanted a shaker profile door in vinyl wrap. He told me it can't be done. Bummer. So I'm considering getting timber doors made with that profile and painting them myself, then that way every couple of years I can change the colour or if they get dented whatnot I can tidy them up myself.

But I just found a kitchen place in Canberra does the exact profile I want so it CAN be done. It's just a matter of finding the right company. I'll travel Tasmania if I have to. I'll get them retro fitted if I have to.

Or I might just go no profile.
