I agree the new moderation is 100% better than the old.

Anyone who hasn't noticed the return of some posters from way back must be blind, I have noticed them and the comment is always the same, how much better the new system is working and how much nicer it is here now.

I think everyone knows there will always be a few that cant get along with others and try to cause trouble by disrupting threads, alleast they cant be nasty in the way they do it now as the mods are watching them, its not hard to work it out.

The problem is that, because they can no longer get away with name calling, they resort to 'in jokes' and innuendo - which may be a source of great amusement to those in the know, but to the vast majority of posters are nothing more than unfunny (dare I say it) porridge.

This is not a big deal on dedicated threads (such as RTR) because everyone knows what they are about, and those who do not wish to be either amused, offended  or bored to tears by the content can easily avoid them. When they spill over into other threads however they can become a right PITA to the uninitiated. At the moment, for example, the board is desperately in need of a dedictated SNEEZE thread.

I hope that the OP answers #11 .

I do hope that this is not the case for many reasons.

At the moment I am reminded of the kudos thread .I do think a lot can be gauged by who leaves kudos and what and to whom they leave them for

and the need for those in power to not be seen doing what they tell others not to do.

All I am amazed about is that people actually have time to analyze the kudos other posters give to other posters.

No offence Iza, but who gives a rats about who kudos who?

Just curious, who are "those in power"?

Just be yourself and don't let anyone else have power over you.

I was around on the old ACCC board ... (glory days).  From what I recollect many of the posters there were new people who were just interested in that particular issue.

The ACCC said that the discussion was one which generated more submissions than they had ever received before ...

Freaki, In line with the thread title ..those in power  are the Moderators .

Did you read all of this thread ?

also Note the id name, the opening post message and the trouble I had quoting and posting the OP .

and the kudos given

and the reactions the OP got ..as I think would be expected

GSE I saw it all first hand

It would be great to see more newbie's come and join and feel welcomed.
Most people would agree the personalized presence and replies to correspondence by the new mods is a welcome change. Seems they actually read things in context and the job of moderation is not being left to self appointed board police.

I agree with the concept of moving on, the past boards, PayPal, rt has no relevance to cs
