You left this part out nero-

"It is understood Philip Morris has not attended any of the functions and no money has changed hands. The latest letter included a form asking any donors to declare that they were not "prohibited donors" including property developers or tobacco companies.

Mr Dastyari said the letter was an "accidental error".

"The NSW Labor Party does not accept donations from tobacco companies - the application form to join Business Dialogue clearly states this," he said. "Unfortunately, it appears an out-of-date database has inadvertently been used."

Haha quoting "news" from 2011?

ALP has ethical standards, except for the refugee policy which is nicked from the Libs. I bet many alp ministers cringe at that policy, but like the treasurer said yesterday, anything is better than abbott in the top seat.

the quote on the picture is from 1998-2011, so neither party had ethics up to then

DY: "This can't be true"
So why post it?
"It's a small donation I suppose, but is it true?"
Why not research it?

Who needs corporate donations when the ALP head office, the ACTU, can slap a levy on union members?  Also the monies raised by these "voluntary" additional contributions do not have to be shown as political donations when they are used for political advertising paid for with the  ACTU monies.

"The ACTU's national office gave $200,000 to Labor at the last election. Altogether, unions gave Labor $5.14 million in declared donations. They spent even more on third-party campaigning, such as advertising totalling $12.14 million in 2010-11."

I wonder how much was involved in the period 1998 - 2011?, gosh over 200 million dollars, "This can't be true"
