If you care to look closer to home, then perhaps you'd like to look at Finance Minister for the current NSW Liberal government - Greg Pearce: http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/nsw/nsw-finance-minister-greg-pearce-spent-22000-on-taxpayer-f...

This relic still has his job and the govt has no plans to remove him.

Can I brand all Liberals corrupt now too?

I think the current liberal party could be called corrupt... all of them... cos they're duping people to vote for them blindly, without declaring the austerity harshness they'll implement after the election.

They paid for him to go to the footy, cricket and car races too

Poor Tony.  As a point of comparison Joe Hockey declared in his register of interests that he was the guest of Aviation Transport at the Bathurst V8 supercars in 2010 and they covered the cost of his attendence and charter travel.  Hockey seems to have made no claim of public expenses.  It's a shame that Tony had to rely on the Australian taxpayers to fund his V8 experience.

And given the hoopla that has been made of his 'volunteering' by the media (and many on here) who concluded that:

Abbott + volunteering = all-round-good-Aussie-with-a-great-heart

compared to

Gillard - volunteering = she-isn't-one-of-us-and-doesn't-care-about-others

...well talk about a slap in the face to that idea lol.

Obeid claims he got Rudd’s NSW Labor ally his job

Eddie Obeid, the former NSW Labor Minister found by ICAC to have been corrupt, seems keen to drag down other Labor figures with him:

Mr Obeid said today [NSW Opposition Leader John] Robertson was “irrelevant”.

“He will get his day later, him and [NSW state secretary] Sam Dastyari,” he said.

“But that’s not the time for that now. These people wore out the carpet in my office when they wanted support. And even the Liberals had… someone watching my office.

John Robertson and Sam Dastyari - I cannot believe these people who I supported, I mentored - I got ... - they don’t give me the benefit that every Australian should have, you’re innocent until proven guilty...”

Dastyari is Rudd’s man in NSW. He backed Rudd’s “reforms” to the NSW branch and will run Rudd’s marginal seats campaign. He’s also expected to take over the Senate seat of Mark Thistlewaite, who is replacing Peter Garrett as the member for Kingsford-Smith, voters willing.

This links the NSW scandal more firmly to Rudd, even if Dastyari is indeed as clean as he insists.
