Hi Everyone.

Lovely pic jimmeh.. you might have us all immigrating to your end of the world, with pics like that.

It's not all like that, there's plenty of bad neighbourhoods too. Even a good working class area has among the highest property taxes in the country....approx. $8,500 to $12,000 a year.

And when I work in the city I have the pleasure of sitting in this for hours!

still blows me away the prices of property tax over there jim

Good morning all

Jimmeh thats a great picture and looks a top spot to spend some time.

That's the North shore. If you want do some fishing or hit the beach....the south south shore is the place to go.

I took a bunch of photos the past two weeks and missed a perfect shot. They built nesting site for Hawks and just as I was passing one a Hawk came in for a landing. I leave the camera on the console, but next time I pass it I'll be ready!

The good and bad are scattered about so the easiest way to tell is by looking at the taxes. If it's only $5,000 a year odds are it's a bad neighbourhood, unless it's a really small house and property.

Or a place like this....

I would HATE to live in those apartments! There are worse ones too. That was Queens or Brooklyn. I'll stick with living here on Long Island until I retire, and if I can't afford to stay I'll move south, probably Florida. Super cheap taxes and every year the winters feel a little colder here, sometime below zero F. If I was to become disabled due to an injury I could afford to move there and retire now.

not good jimmeh in re to sub zero temps

would love to see some more pics of where you live they are nice and also interesting.
