My dad was Grumps to my nephews, Grandmoon.  He chose it well before they came along and it suited everyone just fine!

Precious Heart

I think Poppy is good for being informal. "Grandad" can be the blood Grandad.

Depends on the individual case tho doesn't it?

Slightly different scenario. We are Nanna and Pop and DILs parents are Kong Kong and Pa Paw. This is the Singaporean equivalent. Works well for all of us.

Hiya Icy, long time no communication, bit slow on the puter now, suffering from "old manual typist's arthiritis". Funny you mentioned "Poppy" that's what our darling Grandie calls O/H, my form of address is just a little bit more unusual - "Gangan", don't ask, don't know, she's called me that ever since she could speak, one thing for sure, I don't ever lose her in a shopping centre. Woman LOL

Hi 'licit great to see you again 🙂

In our relationship, hubby (who's the real grandad) was always "Poppy" and me being the Step-grandma they called me "Aunty" and everyone was fine with that.

Granpa (first name) Grandad, Poppa. Grandma, Nanna (first name), Nana (surname). I think they choose their own monikers from memory.. we add the other name especially for the 2 Nana's so we knew which one we were talking about.

I find it funny when my ex has installed her husband as grandpa.

They live in the same town as the second daughter.

Each grandie is convinced its true.-then work it out.

Last Easter i visited and the youngest grandie---said-i know your my mums dad.

--will still be grandpa first name---but kids cant be conned.............Richo.

PS-the daughters OHs parents had passed away and the grandies have no one

else to call-grandma and grandpa.

off topic so sorry but
