Here is a tip for anyone that doesn't know how to do a spoiler.

What you do is type the spoiler, then highlight it and then hit the spoiler button.  That way people have a choice of whether to read it.

No, it's because they've been pressing the spoiler button first.  You have to type the spoiler, highlight it and then hit the spoiler button.
