Is Elle glamorising violence?

The pictures shown here (in her latest lingerie catalogue) are fairly tame compared to one I saw earlier in the day which was fairly obviously posed to look as if the women had been beaten into a fallen and unconscious position.

What do you think?

TEN YEARS later it really isn't a 'topic' anymore

~~ ~~ ~~ Those who do right, have nothing to fear.

it is a topic other than politics though.

kudos to martini for trying to start a discussion.

The photos are from 10 years ago, but they are still on Elle's website.

So go post on one of neros threads if you find that more interesting. Sheesh!

The first line of the article says it is from the 2003 campaign so no one is trying to hide this.

Besides, the article isn't old news is it? And she makse some interesting points about whether we would objectify women in the same way in an advertysing campaign shot today?

I looked at most of the photos on her website under campaigns.. is it male buyers (buying lingerie for their partner) or perves who would be the most interested in those photos?

Perves?  I believe Elle calls them customers.

Most of her customers would be females though.

Some males perve at lingerie catalogues (and websites now), not because they want to purchase the items for sale either.

Am3, they have lots more to look at these days than a lingerie catalogue.  This is not "Happy Days" anymore.

IMO those shots are appealing to the Russian market.   Smiley Wink
