Is he a big Sussex?

I don't know!! The guy probably did say... I know he said the other rooster we wanted would be too big for our girls and would most likely kill them so maybe not. He kept saying you need a little one and I didn't know whether he meant little as in young or size? There were other people waiting and it got all a bit rushed in the end

umm arrrr dilly

Clair, Sussex comes in bantam size too.

But the chicken guy might be talking about the age.

I think your rooster will double his size when he is fully grown. His comb looks small even for hen. he must be quite young.

When our rooster started to crow, he was still smaller than our big hens. But I'm pretty sure rooster will be bigger than hens when they are fully grown. That means Huuuuuuuge!
