It is probably more related to what some are getting sanctioned for on here, not a legal thing, as some appear to be exempt from the rules and others can't disgree even politely without being sanctioned.

I understand what you mean

Glad to hear it. Promoting racism by spreading false spam emails is unacceptable. It's definitely hate speech, IMO.

World English Dictionary

hate speech

— n

speech disparaging a racial, sexual, or ethnic group or a member of such a group

in other words I see hate speech as racism or bigotry

So how do others define it?

'It is'

something that you don't want to give possible (?) examples

It vanished in a puff of smoke though. Call me a cynic, but I'm wondering if the OP deleted  it his/herself   after they'd finished wiping the egg off their face

And here's another classic example:

In 2010, Labor MP Steve Gibbons called Rudd a psychopath…

A psychopath relies on superficial charm, makes great first impressions, is glib and grandiose, callous and manipulative, adept at conning people, refuses to accept responsibility for mistakes, is armed with an impressive supply of excuses, hates monotony preferring constant stimulation, and - most critically - has no empathy.  (Now thats RUDD to a T)

TGSE, I issue a word of caution to you and everyone for the best interest of the community

posting, be careful of the door on your way out.

^^^^^^^ according to the moderation here, that's hate  speech, had I known that, I would have made my post more colourful and made it worth while.

Thanks Iza, I do realise I may be taking a risks, but I guess an  elephants backside is tough enough to withstand a couple of slaps in a good cause. .

I  felt it was important  to demonstrate the difference between political comment and irrelevant and unsubstantiated vitriol.
