At 14 my son went to Queensland with a friend and the friends father...he came back with his ear pierced. We drove home from the airport with him thinking he had had the wrong ear done hehehe, bad mummy.

That's right and don't you forget it.

My oldest was about 1 she got them one week after her 12 months needles by the doctor. Youngest one dont have any yet (she is 3.) My brother got me done when I was about 5 or 6, my dad was not impressed at all.Cat Tongue

I had mine done at 5y/o and apparently my mum had to bribe/force my to get the 2nd one done as I carried on so much after the first!!

I got both my daughters done as babies, they were fine.
ooooohhhhh I'm a baaaaad mother 😛
I like them, each to their own I say! I rarely care what others think of me or what I do anyway, not that anyone ever has. (And I'm faaaaar from feral)

That is meant to read.... Not that anyone has said anything to me about it!
(I'm seriously tired and heading to bed!)

P.S I am not scarred emotionally or physically and either are my girls.

My only worry with babies having their ears pierced is when they are wearing stud earrings because the post is too long for a young child and if they are lying down the post would be sticking into them and that would hurt.

To me it isn't so much about the piercing but all about the comfort of a baby.

When my friend had hers done ( we were early 20's) she came around in tears begging me to take them out. I will never forget how infected they were *shudder* , but managed to get sleepers in despite the pain. She never looked back after the sleepers went in.

Bump, I know what you mean, but they make tiny earrings with size appropriate posts for babies ears.
If I thought she was hurting with them I would take them out but they have never shown to hurt and she rarely even touches them, but I don't chop n change them this young so she has diamond studs.

I got mine done for my 30th

I don't like small girls with ears pierced - all little girls are gorgeous and don't need earrings to make them pretty.

My son has those stretchy things and I loathe them.  I reckon he will need an operation to fix them when he decides to re-join mainstream society
