I don't think Abbot said he was speaking for others when he said he felt Burka's were confronting. In the political sense, something totally un PC to say. If only everyone felt free to say what they think instead of being politically correct about everything.

Do you really think that would be a good thing? For politicians, teachers, Dr's and everyone else to say what they think all the time?

Perhaps we need to stop being so politically correct............... and go back to just being respectful and polite? As a child I was taught what is acceptable and what isn't.

 he's used that technique well, i don't doubt that. the bright spark who realised non pc remarks polarise opinion( which newsltd can spin his way) was definitely on to something. always mock the other guy/woman with secure backup and reveal little of yourself.

As far as the politicians go, I would rather they say what they think. What to teachers & doctors have to do with this discussion? No qualifications needed to be a politician so what they think without being PC is important, IMO.
